Mastering the messy hair look

Messy hair is the ultimate cool-girl style; it’s the perfect mix of Parisian-chic and beach babe. But achieving the messy, ‘I woke up like this’ look takes a little more prep than you’d think and sadly isn’t as simple as rolling out of bed. The Grow Gorgeous gurus are on hand to help you achieve an effortlessly gorgeous messy ‘do.

It’s all about volume and teasing the roots into shape for a lived-in look. The Grow Gorgeous Volume Root Stimulating Primer stimulates your scalp and lift your roots with  caffeine and hyaluronic acid to boost your tresses and swell hair strands to create gorgeous, voluminous locks. After washing, spritz with a little salt spray to create surfer-girl beach waves and blow dry your hair upside down to really lift your roots and add extra volume and texture, giving you the perfect bed-head look.

Beach babe waves

This is the perfect style for second day hair and takes just minutes to achieve. Simply add a little of the Grow Gorgeous Volume Bodifying Leave-In Serum to the lengths and ends of your hair, style into a loose braid before bed and shake out in the morning – the perfect messy hair look for those busy weekday mornings!

The messy bun

The messy bun may look simple, but it takes a little prep to achieve this imperfectly perfect hairstyle. You need plenty of volume and texture in your hair, so we’d recommend the 10-minute Volume Root Stimulating Primer to boost your roots, blow drying your hair upside-down to add plenty of volume and texture and using a hairbrush as little as possible. Then simply tip your head upside down and pull your hair into a loose, messy bun, pulling strands of hair out around your face and the nape of your neck for the ultimate messy bun.

Voluminous curls

This effortlessly gorgeous style is perfect for any occasion, taking you from day to night. Apply a little Shine Serum to wet hair to ensure that your hair doesn’t appear dull when you start to add texture, then rough dry your hair. Add some Volume Bodifying Leave-In serum to the lengths of your hair and then curl random sections of hair, the more random the sections, the more texture you’ll add, giving you a gorgeous, messy hair style.
