Things to do when London’s Sunny | City Break

Continuing our City Break series, this week on the blog we’re embracing the English summer and looking at our favourite things to do when London’s sunny.

If you want the best places to eat and chill on a sunny London weekend, we’ve got you covered.

Peggy Porschen

Love cakes? Love pink? Love pink cakes? You may not recognise the name ‘Peggy Porschen’ instantly, but if you love Instagram even half as much as we do you’re bound to recognise it when you see it.

The striking pink doorway, the gorgeous flowers and the beautiful (and delicious) cupcakes makes it the most photographed cake shop in London.

It’s within walking distance from Sloane Square Tube Station and honestly you can’t miss it. Pop by for tea and cake, sit outside and people watch and make sure you get that perfect Instagram shot.

Madison’s Terrace Bar, St Pauls

With a buzzing atmosphere and incredible views of the city skyline (including an up close view of St. Pauls Cathedral), if you’re looking for a real London cosmopolitan vibe this is the place. With an in-house-DJ and an extensive cocktail and wine list, a Friday evening at Madison’s is a must.

GG Top Tip: Visit just before sunset, it’s likely to be less crowded and you can sit with cocktail in hand and enjoy one of the most beautiful views London has to offer.

St. James’s Park

St James’s Park is located right in central London (close to Buckingham Palace and with a view of the London Eye and Big Ben.) With gorgeous greenery, daily Pelican feedings and a perfect central location, St. James’s Park is the ideal place to waste a day away in the gorgeous London sunshine.

 Waterloo Bridge (after dark)

This one is a must. Take a stroll over Waterloo Bridge after dark. With amazing views of the OXO Tower, Southbank, the London Eye and more, view the most iconic buildings of London beautifully lit up.

Boxpark, Shoreditch

Boxpark stands in the heart of London’s Shoreditch, the building itself is made up of re-fitted and re-purposed shipping containers and is a fusion of a modern street food market and a pop-up retail mall.

A foodie haven, upstairs you’ll find a street food stand to suit every dietary requirement. If you’re looking for something sweet you’ll also find ultimate doughnut indulgence, Dum Dum Donutterie. With its own bar and a huge open plan seating area (inside and out), pop down in the evenings with a group of friends for casual drinks and snacks to suit everyone.

Not just food, downstairs you’ll find a unique collection of independent beauty, fashion and home stores. From blogger fave Astrid & Miyu to Couco Eyewear, this is the perfect place to spend a chilled afternoon.

Whilst you’re in Shoreditch it’s the take the opportunity to just wander around the area of cool bars, unique graffiti and great cafes.
