Breakfast food ideas for gorgeous hair

We’re all pretty informed on what good breakfast food ideas are now, aren’t we? Granola? Check. Porridge? Check. A bacon sandwich? Well, maybe just for the weekend. Eating mindfully is fairly common today but are we being mindful on what great benefits breakfast can have for our hair? Eating for our hair is something we’re quite accustomed to here at Grow Gorgeous HQ so we wanted to share our favourite breakfast food ideas for gorgeous, healthy hair. Grab a spoon, let’s dive in…

Eggs, glorious eggs

Good news for all you partial to an omelette in a morning. Eggs are fabulous for hair as they’re packed with protein (effectively what our hair is made up of). How do you like your eggs in the morning? Serve them any which way you like, with soldiers, poached, scrambled…

Green is good

The green goddess smoothie is high up on our list of go-to breakfast food ideas. Perfect for those days you’re constantly on the go, a green smoothie packed with iron-rich green goodies such as kale, spinach and broccoli is beneficial to hair for the minerals found in these leafy greens. A lack of iron attributes to hair loss so keeping up iron is important for growing luscious hair.

Freshly squeezed

We couldn’t discuss breakfast food ideas without mentioning the trusty glass of OJ. Your morning glass of orange juice is packed with vitamin C which helps the body absorb that all-important iron. Vitamin C also helps in the production of collagen which strengthens the capillaries that supply the hair shafts for stronger hair that can continue to grow without drying or snapping.

A royale breakfast

Doubling up on hair-friendly foods will only better the health of your hair so pair your favourite eggs with salmon for Eggs Royale- breakfast food ideas don’t get much better than that. Salmon contains Omega-3 fatty acids that are important for hair health by providing oils that keep the scalp and hair well hydrated.

Nut butters

Spread your favourite nut butter on toast or pop a dollop atop your porridge for a hearty breakfast that has a good source of vitamin E that works as a moisturiser to condition the hair, as well as providing you with that all-important protein kick that your hair needs!

A fail-safe breakfast for when you’re lacking inspiration is yoghurt. Greek yogurt in particular is brilliant for hair because it is rich in protein and vitamin B5 which helps with blood flow to your scalp and hair growth. Topped with vitamin C packed fruits such as blueberries and strawberries just double up on the benefits of your breakfast.
