Hot Hair Trends: Braids

They’re every little girl’s go-to hairstyle and no doubt we remember wearing them for school but braids are taking a grown-up twist for 2017 with intricate detailing and perfectly undone ends that make them incredibly cool and wearable for the office, the gym and even on an evening out. French or fishtail, there’s a braid for every occasion and style.

An Undone Knot

Even on those days where there is zero styling involved, air can be dressed up with minimal effort. Take your regular hair tie and pull your hair back, but before you secure your hair take it in three sections as you would a regular braid and tie this into two loose knots to add texture. We love this messy, undone look.

Goddess Braids

Isn’t this hairstyle heavenly? Hair wrapped into a half up halo braid is elevated into seriously gorgeous territory with two simple plaits in the length of the hair to add subtle texture and detail.

Braids for added volume

Even ladies with the skinniest of hair strands can cheat their way to gorgeous volume with the help of braids. Piling all your hair on top of your hair has the obvious benefit of bringing all the volume to the front of your face but what to do with all that hair? Two simple plaits wrapped together and slightly pulled apart for a ‘piecey’ look and soft texture make hair look thicker.

Faux Hawk

We’ve all had that moment when we’ve wanted to chop our hair off and completely transform ourselves with a minute and a pair of scissors. Well, we’ve almost all had that instant regret afterwards, too. For one night only we can live out a hair dream and let out our inner rock chick with a faux hawk.

A Side Swept Braid

We like to think that this is the chicest way to get your hair off your face or to disguise greasy roots but in all honesty, it’s too gorgeous not to share with you and could work in any number of occasions.
